Garden Valley School Closure:
Please read the attached document from the State Board of Education announcing the closure of Idaho public schools through April 20th.
Plans for education, nutrition, and special services will be forthcoming after additional conference calls with the state agencies. Garden Valley teachers and staff worked diligently last week to be prepared in case of an extended closure. Our Crisis Team will meet Thursday morning to organize additional services. The "soft closure" means no students will be on campus, however, education and learning will continue using online or other materials at home starting March 30th. We will have details that will also include free breakfast & lunches to all students 18 and under using our bus transportation. This service will also include providing care packages and needs for any community members in quarantine or shut in for some reason. We are working with Boise County Emergency Management, Garden Valley Food Bank and other agencies to help anyone in the community we can.
Please be patient with us as even though we have detailed plans, we have to get them all together after the State Department of Education, State Board of Education, and the Governor’s office give us more details.
Please watch for more information by email and our website at www.gvsd.net. Please also complete the questionnaires (if you have not already) that you were set by email notification last week.
We know this will be a challenge for our students and families throughout the upcoming month. Garden Valley School leadership, teachers, and staff will help the best we can. We care about our students and we will ALL get through this together.
WE ARE WOLVERINE STRONG!
