Mrs. Ward’s 6th grade class

Welcome Nick! Our new student

We made it through the first week of the new schedule. Yea!  I will try to email out a newsletter weekly. Most of the time I’ll have it out on Friday for the following week but sometimes (like this week) it will be later.

Important details for this week:

No school Friday, September 3rd and no school Monday, September 6th – Labor Day

Therefore we WILL have school on Friday, September 10th

Lunchroom – Breakfast is free - middle school breakfast is from 7:45 – 8:05.

Middle school students have the option of eating breakfast OR having a free meal at break time, 1:40 – 1:48.  Students may also purchase ala carte items at break time. All items are priced under $1.00 each. Students may charge this on his/her lunch account.

If you have questions about breakfast, lunch or snack, please feel free to contact me or Debbie Updike (dupdike@gvsd.net)

Oral Report – August 2010

All about Me

Using your me survey you are to write a short speech about yourself.  You will not read directly from your written speech when giving it orally.

During your speech you should tell about yourself:

Name

Birthdate

Where you were born

And answer at least 10 of the questions from the me survey.

You will create a collage to use with your speech. I will provide magazines to use and also paper to put your collage on. You may also want to get photos or pictures from home.

Math:

I have divided the students into 4 math groups.  On most days, each group will have a different assignment.  Students will have some time to work on assignments during class but may need to take it home to finish.  I generally do not give more than 20 problems for each assignment.  If your child is having difficulty, please do not hesitate to call or email.

Have a great week! If you see a firefighter, thank him/her for keeping our valley safe.
