CHROMEBOOK HELP

Automatically connect to a network

    Prefer a network

    • If you have multiple Wi-Fi networks in your area, you can set your Chromebook to prefer one network over another:

    • Make sure you're connected to a Wi-Fi network.

    • At the bottom right, select the time.

    • Select Settings.

    • In the "Network" section, select Wi-Fi, select your network.

    • Turn on Prefer this network.

    Is your device up-to-date?

    Won't Power Up

If you have a CTL Gray model (NL7 or NL7T) and it has a drained battery, it may not power on. If this is the case, do the following:

    • Make sure the power adapter is plugged in

    • Wait for a few minutes so the battery has some charge

    • Press the Power key. (Your device may power automatically once the battery has enough charge)

Camera, extension, or other issue. Power Wash it!

Note. Power Washing a Chromebook will erase all local data stored on the device. You should be storing all of your data on your Google Drive where it is backed up and accessible from any device connected to the Internet.

    • Press Esc+Refresh+Power

    • A yellow exclamation point (!) or "Please insert a recovery USB stick" is displayed.

    • Press Ctrl+D to begin Developer mode, then press Enter.

    • Press Space, then press Enter.

    • The Chromebook deletes its local data, returning to its initial state. This can take a while but is usually a pretty quick process.

    • Forced re-enrollment is enabled for all GVSD Chromebooks. On the newer CTL models, you'll see a note that Developer mode is blocked. This shortens the wipe process, and still allows for re-enrollment when the device automatically restarts in Verified mode.

    • When the transition completes, press the space bar, then press Enter to return to Verified mode.

    • Enroll the Chromebook before signing in to it.

    • Press Ctrl+Alt+E.

    • Click More options and then Enterprise enrollment.
