Introducing our new MS Math and Science Teacher- Jen Favreau

Hello!  My name is Jen Favreau.

I grew up on the coast of Maine (hence the French last name) and went to the University of Maine in Orono, Maine for my BS in Kinesiology and PE, so yes, I’m a bit of a seafood snob.   I did a year exchange to Utah State in Logan, Utah my final year which is where I completed my student teaching.  While a teacher assistant for a whitewater kayaking class through their recreation program, I met my now ex-husband who is from Boise.  (People always want to know how I got here from Maine.)

I have a daughter and three boys who are amazing but whom grew up way too fast.  I am adjusting to my new status as an “empty nester” but am grateful that they are at least all still in Idaho at this time.   I was able to stay at home with them for many years prior to really starting my teaching career.  After receiving my endorsement in Biology I have taught some math, health, and a variety of science classes including but not limited to Biology, Earth Science, and even Oceanography!

In my spare time, I love doing just about anything outdoors especially snowboarding/skiing, hiking/backpacking, camping, and rafting!  Lately I have also begun to try my hand at quilting.

I love teaching and am excited to work with a smaller school district and to become part of the Garden Valley community!
