Hello, everyone! My name is Olivia Fobes, and I am so excited to be rejoining the Garden Valley School District as the new Secondary Mathematics Teacher!
I was born in Kodiak, Alaska before my family quickly relocated back to Idaho where both of my parents were born and raised. We moved to Garden Valley in 2006, and most of my family still lives here! I attended GVSD as a student from pre-school all the way through the twelfth grade. After graduating high school in 2021, I attended Boise State University where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree and a minor certificate in just three years.
My love for math developed steadily throughout my years at GVSD, but I became especially passionate in high school. My favorite areas of study are applied geometry and applied statistics! I believe that anyone can find something to love in math; sometimes one just has to think creatively to see it!
I currently live in Boise near the foothills, which provides me great access to hiking trails, parks, and quirky coffee shops. You can often find me making art, reading, wake surfing, playing video games, and spending time with my loved ones! I recently adopted the sweetest pup, Ladybird, who loves going for walks around my neighborhood.
I am thrilled to reconnect with the Garden Valley community and to return to the school where I was lucky enough to create such fond memories. I look forward to meeting all of you!
